Canadian Lawyer’s Top 25 Most Influential in the Canadian justice system and legal profession is now in its 11th year. This year, the final list was compiled based on hundreds of nominations, thousands of votes and voter comments, and input from Canadian Lawyer, Law Times and Canadian Lawyer InHouse editorial panel.
Past influential lawyers include Supreme Court Judges, Premiers, Ministers of Justice, academics, human rights leaders, and expert courtroom litigators.
Being named as one of Canadian Lawyer’s Top 25 Most Influential highlights the important and significant work Michael has done over his career.

He has received the Senate 150th Anniversary Medal for his assistance in drafting complex laws and policies. His commentary and criticism are well regarded in both the legal and political spheres.
